Sussex Planning & Zoning unanimously gave a "thumbs down" last night on the Townsend Regional Shopping Center outside of Lewes. Now the question is will the Sussex County Council listen to them? Innumerable times in the past, the Sussex County Council has ignored the P&L's recommendations. Will these people finally listen to the wishes of the people or will it be more of the same? Will Councilmen--- Dukes, Rogers, Phillips, and Jones finally blink for a change and do the right thing? We will see soon:
EVERYONE, TAKE A BOW! WE JUST RETURNED FROM THE SUSSEX COUNTY P&Z MEETING WHERE THE COMMISSION MADE THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE THREE TOWNSEND DEVELOPMENTS:
SENATORS: RECOMMENDED THE NUMBER OF UNITS TO BE BUILT, WENT FROM 242 TO 229 UNITS
GOVERNORS: RECOMMENDED THE NUMBER OF UNITS TO BE BUILT, WENT FROM 472 TO 258
THE BIG ONE: RECOMMENDED THE RE-ZONING FOR THE TOWNSEND REGIONAL SHOPPING CENTER WAS UNANIMOUSLY DENIED!
THE SUMMARY THAT P& Z GAVE WAS EVERYTHING AND MORE THAT WE ADDRESSED IN SO MANY WAYS TO THE P&Z. YOUR LETTERS, YOUR COMMENTS AT THE MEETING, AND THE PETITIONS MADE THIS HAPPEN!
THANK YOU EVERYONE, YOU'RE GREAT! MORE DETAILS WILL FOLLOW.
