January Hopes Meet June Deadlines.

Some thoughts going into the New Year revisited at the end of the Assembly's 144th session. Will we continue to raise taxes to control our storm waters?
~Not until after November, Coons and Clark PROMISED.
Will PEPCO Holding spend billions on nuclear power or will we go with wind?
~The answer is blowing in the wind this week as DeLuca takes the issue head on!
Will natural resources founder in the perilous hands of land speculators?
~Still largely inknown, this issue will have to be on the minds of voters and articulated in debate.
Can us Chickens get open government out of the state house this year?
~Helene Keeley was on WHYY last week saying that the House DEMs had put together a very good bill and the GOP was readying answering legislation. Let's hope they don't opt not to reconcile the bills in Assembly before the end of the month.
Will Sussex county be allowed to continue unsustainable growth?
~YES, unless the voters decide to make the changes in Sussex County government representation that are necessary and keep pressure on Dover to control the counties. I have some Sussex land use posts sitting in the queue about the Positive Growth Alliance that will be published soon.
Will Delmarva Power be regulated again for the common good?
~Not yet.
Will Joe Wise ever come to justice in Delaware?
~Not likely but Tom Wagner is working on getting the kind of umph behind his title that can help avoid this kind of situation in the future.

Is there hope against violent crime and lethal drugs in our neighborhoods?
~The Wilmington Police finally were embarrassed into actually doing some community policing, a good first step.
Will Nathan Hayward's crappy stewardship continue to plague us?
~Absolutely yes.

You'd think you would choose a picture that showed wilmington police officers. I don't see any wilmington police officers in this picture.

What this is is a post that I published in September and it was a question about safety in general. The picture is in my neighborhood. I live near the place where a kid brutally raped and murdered a college student in Town Court Apts. and the photo is of the jury taking a field trip here to view the scene of the crime.

In this June re-publishing of the post, the main safety story has been the morphing of the Wilmington Police.
